Have you ever woken up on the wrong side of the bed?
It’s a funny saying if you think about it - but we have all been there.
Did you find yourself saying that throughout the day? “It’s just one of those days.”
How did the rest of your day pan out?
Can you think of one day when you “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” AND had an absolutely phenomenal day?
Probably not.
Would you like to know why?
Because you lived out the confession you stated over your day.
You believed, you confessed, and your body fell in line.
By embracing and stating that you “woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” you initiated a cascade of emotions and actions that fall into line with that statement.
Maybe you were less energetic. Maybe you were more irritated with others. Maybe you didn’t do things that benefited your health.
That’s the power of your mentality and your confessions.
We all get to choose what we say, what we confess, and what we believe. Thankfully.
If your goal is wellness, mastering your mentality is a key part to getting there.
This doesn’t remove the fact that there are hard days, days full of grief, sadness, heartbreak, or frustration. These emotions are real. And should be addressed.
How you manage your mind and your body during these frustrations is key to promoting your well-being in the process.
It’s in these trying times that it is usually the hardest to get done what needs to get done.
It’s harder to eat right, to move our bodies, or to say positive things to ourselves.
However, it’s imperative to do so - especially when times get tough.
What are you to do?
Get started, TODAY. Whether you’re in the midst of stress or not, write down physical and mental actions that make you feel and think your best.
Maybe it’s an evening walk. Maybe it’s getting protein in at breakfast. Maybe it’s going to bed by 10 pm. Whatever it is, know what works for you.
Then, when dark days arise, you have a tool kit for success. We ALL need it. You can lean on these actions when you’re not sure how to get started.
Maybe you’ll start with one of these actions. Then two, and before you know it, you’ll watch your success grow.
We all have dark days. It’s inevitable. Being able to navigate them will help you to shine for yourself and others.
Can something as simple as a calf raise help to balance blood sugar? Here's a good reminder that small actions can create a huge impact.
The real reason most people fail to maintain what they accomplish on their health journey.
