We live in a world that loves extremes.
In the midst of rising obesity rates, we jump from one extreme to the other.
And it’s not helping the problem.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US. And it has been since 1921.
What are we doing?
We are doing the wrong thing.
What do I believe is the wrong thing?
We choose extremes, rather than foundations.
We focus on accessory aspects to health, rather than the foundational steps. And what does it leave us with?
A dependency on a healthcare system that promotes treating the symptoms rather than the root cause.
As much heartbreak as I’ve experienced with hospitals in the last two years, as a nurse and caregiver, I know whole-heartedly they are necessary.
As disgusted as I was watching the neglected care of my father, hospitals do good. They provide life-saving services that can’t be found elsewhere.
But what if you could decrease your dependency on medicine? What if you took control of your life and your power to prevent disease?
YOU CAN.
I'd like to be a little reminder to you that no matter your goal, the best path is built brick upon brick - not brick upon sand.
You must have a sure foundation. Why? Because that foundation will promote lasting results.
So here is a key part to any foundation: education.
We like immediate results that require little effort. However, taking the effort by means of education is a huge part of changing your habits.
If you know why what you're doing is working, you'll be more likely to maintain it.
One area of education I work on with my clients: MACRONUTRIENTS.
Your intake of protein, fat, and carbohydrates plays a roll in your total calorie intake, blood sugar balance, and overall well-being. Knowing how these add up, affects everything. It changed my life, it can change yours.
It's not carbs that are always the problem. Maybe the problem is balance. Avoid the extreme mentally. Embrace what’s true.
You can hit your goals and avoid the path so many Americans are on today. Need help getting started? Apply to join my program today.
Can something as simple as a calf raise help to balance blood sugar? Here's a good reminder that small actions can create a huge impact.
The real reason most people fail to maintain what they accomplish on their health journey.
